Posted by: Zoon Poor Bush I heard on the radio this morning that President Bush's approval ratings are at another all-time low. Just 36% of the public approves of Bush's job performance, his lowest-ever rating. It was 64% when he first took office in October of 2002 and 47% when he was re-elected in 2004. Only 40% of the public approves of Bush's performance on foreign policy and the war on terror, another low-water mark for his presidency, and just 35% of the public approves of Bush's handling of Iraq. This comes on the heels of Bush being quoted "That will be decided by future presidents" when asked about a timeframe for U.S. forces fully withdrawing from Iraq. That's "presidents", folks...plural. That's three more years of George, plus four more years of the following administration, plus at least one more year into the next Presidency...which means at least EIGHT more years before U.S. forces are out of Iraq. Wow. Remember when he first sent troops into Iraq and said it would take 2-3 years? |
